Can’t re-enable auto disconnect feature

I am running IE6.0 on a windows 98SE platform, and I disabled the auto disconnect feature in the browser, however, I now require to re-enable it, and can see no obvious way to do so as the reference to it in IE options/ connections has now disappeared. I hope someone has had a similar problem, or may able to help
