Cant reach harddisk

i get a harddisk from my frens in order to copy some files from it. when i finish installed it into the system, the bios can detect the harddisk but in the windows, i cant see the drives availabe. y?

I think that the file system that your borrowed harddisk is using is not compatible or do not work with the operating system you are using windows usually uses FAT32 and with Win2k and WinXP it uses FAT32 and NTFS. Try checking your friend's operating system and it will give you an idea why windows dont see your harddrive.

both harddisk are using fat32. only the harddisk tat i borrowded is on track with windows 95 while the os tat i use is winME.

With On-Track loaded to make the disk work on Friends computer you are not going to be able to access the drive information on your without getting the on-track disk manager to load.

The on-track manager loads in the boot section on the hard drive.

The better way is to put your hard drive in your friends computer to so on-track loads. Then you can copy the data to your hard drive.

its rather troublesome to make our drive the load drive coz its not our pc. is ther any other way to solve it except loading the on track?
