Can't recieve email by cable modem

By ljpro ·
I have a win 95 computer that I want to check email with that goes through a NT server that is running Proxy Server 2.0 and is connecting to the internet through a cable modem. I am running SMTP on the server and Outlook express on the 95 machine. How do I set up either one to allow Outlook express to check email?

Is POP3 (port 110) enabled in yr proxy? That is for incoming mail. SMTP is just for outgoing. Check yr settings.

All ports are set correctly on both the proxy and in outlook express.

I quit trying to use Out Look Express because it won't accept mail from some of my servers. Instead, I use Hotmail and Yahoo mail direct. They can be accessed from any machine on any type of access. Also the messenger services are very useful and all free.
