Can’t reinstall Windows 2000

My Win 2000 OS has been very buggy. Too many issues to list. Tried to reinstall, but after the reboot to set-up screen, I get a ‘EUSBMSD.sys file is corrupted’, and can’t complete the reinstall. Thanks in advance for any help.
