Can't Remove Other User Mailboxes from Outlook 2010

By techporvida ·
I saw this question in a locked post from 2 years ago so I couldn't respond. I had two mailboxes I couldn't close after I:

Mail Server: Removed access permissions
Desk Side: Mailbox doesn't appear in the Account\Change\Advanced mailbox list

My environment:
Windows 7 64 bit
Outlook 2010 32 bit
Server 2008 R2

From PC
Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\
Check each key.The name of the mailbox you want to get rid of will display in the right panel.
Either delete that entire folder or (like I do) rename it.
It may be necessary to close/open Outlook. If it doesn't go away, give it a few minutes.

One did'nt go away - user error, mea culpa, I found I hadn't removed All Access Permission on the server. I removed it and a minute to two later the mailbox was gone from my Outlook.

This doesn't stop you from accessing it again in the future.

Hope this helps someone. Carpe diem to all.
