Can’t remove site from Acitve directory

I installed a site in Active Directory on my PDC,in the Sites and serivces tree I installed a remote W2K server as a remote site. I removed the remote server and deleted it in active directory. However the site name for that remote server will not delete. Is there any way to remove the site, I used the meta cleanup tool but the site did not show up in the list. I get a error saying a service is busy. The dead site seems harmless, however I want to get it out of the Sites and Services tree.
Anysuggestions?
