can’t route to local FQDN

by chris . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

hey folks,

Got a little problem here…

4 Desktops two upstairs two downstairs

the upstairs desktops are connectected to a DLink 704 router that is plugged into the DSL modem the downstairs pcs are linked with a linksys router (BEFSR41) which in turn is linked to the DLink.

The prooblem i have is the upstairs PC’s cant get to any local IP address but they can get to the hostnames of the local machines and the downstairs machines cant access www.copstalk.org one of the downstairs machines’ webserver but only get local access to it the upstairs machines have no problem going to www.copstalk.org only the downstairs machines have to go by LOCCAL IP only if i type the external IP they still wont route.

Any ideas?
