Can’t see domain controller

Our office just installed a new windows 2000 domain controller. This serves as a file server, domain controller, and proxy server for email and internet access. We keep getting an error message, and don’t know why. Everything seems to be setup correctly. The error is:

Windows cannot create the new computer object because the pre-Windows 2000 computer name Name is already in use. Select another name, and then try again.

We named this server “Internet”, and there is no other computer with this name

Does anyone know why we might get this?
