Can’t see PrinterAttachedtoXP onNetwork?

I can not see my HP 722C that is attached to my XP Compaq PC from any other machines on my network. Also, there is an exclamation point next to parallel devices when I veiw devices. I have tried to delete driver, reload with CD( doesn’t work) and download from HP a XP driver( says I don’t need one)
