Can't see resources of PCs in a domain

By ppvald ·
I have a simple domain, Windows 2000 Server with 4 XP Pro stations. One PC has a printer that is shared,User group everyone has print access. Server sees the printer and I am able to add it to the server and share it as well and do a test page easily. Any other xp stations can find it in AD but when adding it says, Cannot add may have lost connection to resource. May help-In MS Windows Network windows where u browse for PCs, U dbl click on a station but no shared resources are shown- Thx for ur help

Try this...

I have experience it too especially for WinXp in Win2k domain.
Right click your network connection to select properties,
Under the general tab, choose to install new component,
Select protocol and click add,
select "nwlink IPX/SPX/NetBios compatible Transport Protocol" to install.

Close the "select network component" window and ok to your network connection propeties. Then restart your machine.

You should can see the network resource now

Ensure your WINS entries are correct if you are running WINS. Also might want to check the browser service.

Have tried netbieu, ipx/spx, etc to no avail. No WINS service because not required in a Native environment. Anything else?
