OK. I went back to Windows ME, because I came to the conclusion that the sould wasn’t working because I’ve only got a Pentium 2 399 MHz. My fiance and I figured that the audio working when I first installed XP was just a fluke. In any case, I’m back to ME, but now I’ve got another situation (yes, I know, I’m cursed).
I can connect to MSN Messenger with no problems. I can install Windows Updates with no problems. However, those are the only 2 things I can do on the Internet. I can’t run IE; when I click on the “e” icon, I get the following messages:
1.Error Message “Failed to load the Internet Connection Wizard Helper Component”
I click “OK,” and get this message:
2.Error Message “Icwconn1 has caused an error in ICWUTIL.DLL”
I did a search for the error message and tried the suggestions to fix it (fix the tapi32.dll and iewhelp.dll files). They didn’t work. I tried repairing IE, that didn’t work either. Any ideas, or should I just give up trying to fix it and reinstall ME again?
