Can’t start Windows 95

by mbaker . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I do some small computer jobs for a
school district and I have encountered a
problem I have never seen before.
Someone tried to compress the C: drive
in Windows 95. Now the computer
cannot boot into Windows. The C: drive is
now 300MB and a new G: drive appears
to have all of the correct window files. I
ran Norton Utilities and NU seems to
think the C: drive is not a hard drive. I
tried to do a windows recovery and I can’t
do it without formatting C:. The computer
was left to run disk compression over
night. It is connected to a Novell Network.
The machine is an IBM Aptiva. Does
anyone have a suggestions? Thanks
