Can't view javascript videos

By CMB from Omaha ·
Hi all, I can't view javascript videos (if that's the right name--the "URL" of the videos is always something like "javascript:playVideoClip('plV344245');"

I don't get an error message or anything; Windows Media Player just says "loading" but then nothing happens. Usually, IE crashes.

I'm running Windows XP with SP2, but with Windows firewall turned OFF and Norton Internet Security turned ON. I have tried enabling Javascript and popups thru Internet Explorer 6's security settings, but no dice.

Any suggestions? I should mention this is happening on BOTH of my home computers, but not on my work computer, so presumably it's not a hardware problem or a web site problem.

Two things

First make sure that Norton IS is not blocking the stream.

Second, check that you are running a current Java version and that there are no scripts necessary from the site you are attempting to pull from.

Thanks, turned out it was Norton IS. I needed to use the "Web Assistant" to turn off the pop-up blocker. Thanks again, this has been annoying me to death! :)
