I was wondering if there is a rule of thumb regarding how many apps I can run per server.
I’ve got a spare server that I want to utilise – quad 1.4 xeon / 4Gig ram.
I have a number of different services I could run on there but am not sure how many or how to calculate the load.
So I could use it as a print server for instance, for 8 printers and 60 staff, and maybe also run Ms Sql with 4 databases with say 30 users of each database.
Maybe I could also run Backup Exec on it – to do nightly backups…
How do I calculate how much load I can run on it?
