Capture as LPT1 a net connection.

By htijerin ·
I need capture a net connection as LPT1 for a network printer, for some based-DOS programs with the LPT1 connection as default.
All this in Windows NT.

net use lpt1: \\server\printersharename
And you'll be good. (Put it in the logon script or end with a /p to make it persistent or run it every time you start your NT Machine the choice is yours.....)
Best of Luck.

During printer set-up answer "yes" (radial button) to "Do you print to this printer from DOS?". Or, in printer properties -> details, select "Capture Printer Port". Same effect as "net use" command, but you don't have to go to "that dark place" (DOS Command Prompt).
