Career in Knowledge management

Knowledge mangament is the buzz word. In what way can it be utilized, especially if one wants to make a career it it. Secondly How technical knowledge, or coding knowledge can be helpfull to build a career?
Are there any formalized education, books are available

Its nice to know somebody is really taking care to make others aware of this core area of business. Building a career in knowledge must be very difficult, I believe. I am a novice in this area and would like to learn from others how to start buidingcareer in knowledge management
