Career Path in IT?

By ldf4c ·
I wasn't sure to post a question or discussion, but I wanted to gain some insight into career path progression for IT. I'm a junior in college and my major is Information Systems. I work as a systems administrator for an insurance firm and upon graduation, I'll have around five years of experience at my current job. In total I'll have ten years of IT experience. I'm thinking about completing one or two Microsoft certifications before graduation. Most of my experience has been with Microsoft products and I have no programming knowledge at all.

So where do I go from here? Eventually I want to obtain an MBA and become a CIO/CTO. After graduating college, should I work for someone such as Accenture and do IT consulting? Or should I try to find another systems administrator job with a larger company? What's the best way to structure your career if you want to become a CIO/CTO?

Thanks
