I have been working in the EDP Department of an Insurance Company in India(Public Sector) for the past 15 yrs. The role is of an Help desk. I support the end users in case of difficulties in the Application. If it is beyond our support i will register a call and follow up with 3rd party vendors for a solution. The application runs on Linux, Oracle and front end is D2K. I also install softwares like Oracle, Linux and D2K. I also truouble shoot any problems regarding PC’s, anti-virus etc.
Mean while i have qualified as Post Graduate in Information Technology. I have working knowledge of Oracel sql, DBA, Linux. I am aged around 45yrs.
Now with this background what should i do to equip myself for entering into IT Field. Should i enter SAP or certify myself as an ORACLE DBA.
