Carrer Guidance

By kabrapremlata ·
Hi there
This is Premlata from ([City : Nagpur], [State : Maharashtra], [Country : India]). I had done B.Sc. (Subjects were Physics, Chemistry & Maths) in 2nd division from Nagpur university. I had also done two years Software Diploma From Aptech Computer Education, Nagpur Branch (Covering computer fundamentals, MS-Office, C and C++, Foxpro and Oracle, HTML).
Now I want to do something challenging in computers. So I thought of SAP/R3. But I don't know anything about it.
I want to know about it from the begining.
1. What is SAP/R3 Exactly?
2. Is my qualification good enough for doing SAP/R3? Or Something more is required?
3. Is it that some hardware and networking knowledge is also required for SAP/R3.
4. What type of jobs I can get after doing the course. Can I get these jobs in India?
5. Can u tell the rough amount required to do this course.
Thanking You
Premlata

Hi Premlata,
1)To answer ur questions:

SAP is an ERP Package. You can become an ERP consultant as :
a)Functional Consultant
i)Module pp, 2) FI 3)SD etc....
b)Technical Consultant
i)ABAPer, basis,security, etc....

2&5)You first need to know if you will like erp or not-- then what u like ? Technical jobs/ Functional consultant.

Apart from Computer language awareness your line of study is not much related to ERP.

Once you know that u will like it..(Functional/Technical--ABAP er,basis etc (A then there are various courses in th market mosts are very costly. You can get certification from SAP itself if you can afford. It varies from thousands to a few lakhs depending on what course you are enrolling for. APART from that sometimes Siemens also conducts SAP courses.

3)Hardware and Networking knowledge is not required -- ERP is the other Pole.

4) After oding the course you can become an SAP Consultant. Many jobs are available in India with good Pay and good growth -- provided that you get the Call from companies and that you get selected.

If you need any more information you can mail me....

Cheers,
Himadri
