I’ve got some cabling folks that will pulling all the data and phone lines for a new building my employer is building. They want to pull 70 CAT5 cables down a 100ft hallway and support them with J-Hooks. My concern is for the cables at the bottom of this pile, especially where a couple of the cables are pinched between the hook and the 60+ cables piled on top. I would prefer a cable tray be used to spread out the cables and lesson the weight on the bottom cables but they contend that the j-hooks are fine for the project. Can anyone give some info as to whether I should continue to be concerned or if I’m worrying for nothing. Any documentation to support would be very appreciated so I can present to upper managment for support of my concerns. Thanks in advance.
