Cat5e Cable punch down on Cat6 patch panel color problems

I have a cat6 patch panel and I have cat5e wire. I am very confused as to how to punch this down.First, I would rather just have a cat5e patch panel but with Covid-19 I will be waiting till Wednesday and it is Thursday now. I do know the differences in speed and guage etc, that is not what this thread is about. My cat5e cables have the following cables:
    orange
    orange/white
    brown
    brown/white
    green
    green/white
grey (I am assuming it should be blue)
grey/white (Again assuming the grey should be blue)

On my cat6 patch panel the terminal pin out for each port is the following:
    #1 shows white/green and a white/orange (Which do I use?)
#2 shows green and an orange (Which do I use?)
    #7 shows white/brown
    #8 Shows Brown
    #5 shows Blue
    #4 shows white/blue
    #3 shows white/green and a white/orange (Which do I use?)
#6 shows green and an orange (Which do I use?)

I am very confused why #6 is the same as #2 and #3 is the same as #1. Can someone tell mw what I should do? Are green and oranges interchangeable or something? How should I punch this down?
