BTW ? I think the federal unemployment numbers are misleading. The full impact of claimants has not been felt yet. Large severance packages and salaries have allowed technology sector employees to build a nice buffer between them and the unemployment line. Many folks I talked to that have been laid off have decided to take up to a year off of work before job hunting. So claims for government unemployment assistance have not gone up. By the time they get back in to job searching the economymay have settled down and a new wave of .coms will be needing employees. These employees are sitting at home now not as untapped resource but as entrepreneurs waxing their boards and waiting for the surf to build.
