Looking for advise on which path to travel. I recently installed a Cisco phone system with IP phones into my network. I am a self taught Cisco guy, no certifications. To achive the highest possible function of our phone system, I have two options.
I could go to school, get my CCNA for the data side then advance to my CCVP for the voice side. I could do this, then I would be the in-house know it all. Or I could have our consulting company come in every time we need an upgrade, maintainance, or anything else, at an extreme cost, or at least i think so.
I would like to get my employeer to pay for these certifications, is there anyway I can show him the cost of getting these certs compared to the cost of the consultants coming up every week, or month, or even 6 months. Any Tech Republic Templates I havent found?
