CD Audio

by still_learning . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Hi All, I have an interesting problem. Recently upgraded my system (new case, Mobo – GA-8IDX, Intel 845 APG set, P4 1.6GHz processor) and moved my drives over (Floppy, 80BG HDD, CD-R, CD-RW). I am running Win2000. My problem is this, when I play audio CDs, I get audio through my system speakers, however, If I plug in my headset into the jack, I hear nothing – seriously. This happens to be true of both CD drives (I had no problems with my old system and the headset does work). Interestingly, I get sound from my speakers whether or not the CD Audio cable is connected or not! I have on board sound AC 97, this installed and seems to be working properly. I have no “!” in Device Manager. Has any one run across this and have a solution? Thankyou in advance for your assistance – Steve

PS. Does anyone know what happened to the statistics? I have participated in a number of postings and have posted some questions myself, but my statistics show zeroes.
