cd recording

By cs3585 ·
Can mother drivers be downloaded then be transferred to a disk and then be used to load my motherboard drivers if I lose them because if Windows will not boot I can't get on the internet to download them and a cd driver disk from IBM cost $45.

System will normally have a Motherboard CD with drivers already supplied. If you are downloading updated drivers it is a good idea to burn them to a CD or keep them in a safe place until you need them.

Edit: too much info

I normally create a folder structure like this and copy the drivers into each respective folder. Use your Burning software to select the folders and then burn them to CD.

Ambo Drivers
-Chipset
-Network
-Video
-Audio
-Utility

Naming the root directory Ambo Drivers lets me know what is inside it. Then the other folders are created in Ambo Drivers.

The Utility directory could hold your latest Antivirus software so that it is installed before connecting to the internet.

When you reinstall the Operating System you just insert your CD and navigate through the drivers folders and install them.

Is there some obscure meaning in the word Ambo?

Maybe another of your Aussie words?

Well, first of all ...

You'd have to tell us the model / name of your computer.

There are many many computers with different driver requirements, including those made by IBM.
