Here is the problem. I just performed a fresh install of WinME. I have a cd-rom and a cd-writer. When I try to play a music cd in the cd-rom, there is no activity. The light on the cd-rom blinks when I insert it but disappears once it’s in. When I go to Windows explorer to check the drive, it asks me to insert a cd. However, when I put a data cd, it works fine. No problems. Now when I put the music cd in the cd-writer, it plays normally using Windows Media Player with no problems. Can someone tell me what’s wrong or how I can fix it? I have a NIC sharing IRQ’s with my audio device in case you are wondering but I don’t think that is the problem.
