CD-ROM based individual ERP/MRP training

By panasiants ·
I work as a buyer in a small company that does not use MRP/ERP systems.
However I want to get some basic hands-on training in this area, so as to be able to move to a larger company that does use MRP/ERP. (I am now attending several courses in supply/inventory management, but they provide only very general info on this subject).
So far I found only TBT (technology-based training) from Oracle, which sells ERP modules on CD-ROMs for $600/ea. But the modules are so narrow, that you have to buy at least 3-4 to cover purchasing application. Since I shall be paying for it out of my pocket, this does not seem a very good deal to me.
Have any of you heard of any other CD-ROM based training options and books that can give me an ability of practically handling MRP/ERP applications in purchasing ?
Your input will be greatly appreciated.

APICS

American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) promotes full comprehension of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Change Management (SCM) plus other topics. Local chapters deliver education towards certification. Many books written and the defacto standard authored by Orlicky.
