I have an IBM 300GL with IDE Lite-on cd-rom drive as original equipment. Do not know why, but I suspect others have been using my work p.c. Problem is: the only way I can see the cd-rom drive after booting (bios does see it)but after booting it it not listed under “my computer” as a drive at all. But if I go into “Disk Administrator Tool, using windows nt4.0 workstation, tool will open listing the finding the cd-rom drive, then I
have to assign a drive letter and it then will appear and operate normally. It seems that maybe something is not starting in services that I need but I am not sure? Any help or lead would really be appreciated.
