Here is the scenario:
I used to have Win 98 on this drive and i installed O’reilly’s annoyances for 98. When i had that program i diabled the auto run feature (for program and musice cd’s)in annoyances program.
After that i bought Win Me and had a little bit of a problem installing Win Me so i thought maybe annoyances was the problem. So without changing anything i uninstalled annoyances. Eventually i got Win Me going.
Since then my cd rom won’t auto start programs (which i didn’t really worry about for a long time)and i would like to go back to the auto run of programs on cd’s.
Here is what i have done so far to correct it:
1. Went into system properties and double clicked on the cd rom and made sure auto insertification notice was checked off.
2. Did a search through the registry and found the cd rom in question and change the value of auto insert notification.
I did a couple of registry changes to no avail.
I am still running Me and would like to have the option of having my cd rom auto run back.
Also i do have another hard drive on the sytem with Win 98 (boot magic) and the auto run feature works in 98 but not in Me.
Any thoughts as to where i might make some changes to make this work again.
