CD-ROMs being scanned upon reboot

By jeff.engel ·
Two newer CD-ROMs: Pioneer DVD-ROM(master) and a Philips CD-RW(slave). When a reboot is initiated the two devices are scanned constantly until a hard shutdown is performed. BIOS is at its latest revision.

Open the CMOS control anel and set the hard drive as the first boot option
Then chek the jumper setting on the CD-ROM's to make sure one is Master and the other is Slave
You want to try CD-RW as the slave to the primary hard drive and use the DVD as the master or slave on the secondary hard drive, they may not be getting along on the same controller

Already attempted...also FYI, the scanning occurs before reaching the BIOS.

Check your anti-virus configuration to check for scan at startup is enabled, this may be the cause of the problem
