I have a computer that has a Creative Blaster CDRW 8x4x32 and a Asus 50x CD Rom (Windows 98 SE, ASUS A7V MB, 800 Mhz Thunderbird, 384 Megs RAM). The CDRW is the Primary Master, the ROM is the Secondary Master (the HD is a onboard ATA). The BIOS and Device Manager sees them both correctly and they both work as CD-ROMs but both types of CD Burning software (Adaptec Easy CD Creater 4 and Sony CD Extreme)I have tried does not see the Writer as a Writer. I have tried booting in Safe Mode and removing the drivers in Device Manager, toggling the DMA settings, putting them both on the same IDE Channel, re-installing the software, updating the ASPI drivers, et al. Open for any suggestions. Thanks

Remove the CD-Rom only drive - and see if you can get the CDRW working correctly and then put the CD-reader back in. This way you know if it a conflict between drives (hard ware compatibility) or windows and then let us know.
Tried Nero first, and it found the Burner. Now I have to decide whether to pay $50.00 for Nero or keep playing. I am leaning toward paying the money and moving on. Thanks for your suggestion.
