I’m installing a plextor 12/10/32 drive in a machine running W98, AsusP5A MB,AMD KII 550.
There is an IBM 7,200 20 gig Primary master. another CD-ROM (Major Mfg) which I
moved from secondary master to primary slave. I installed the Plextor as
secondary master.
The drive is found at boot but when I get to Windows I can not find it anywhere,
Explorer or Device manager.
I’ve been told that updating the BIOS or reinstalling the IDE drivers is the
fix. But, if the drive is found at boot could the BIOS or IDE drivers be the
culprits?
