Aren't you supposed to be logged on? ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to CDA video

I seem to remember that this was a sort of marketing ploy.

You run it while you're logged on, then while you watch it you are subjected to all manner of sublime advertising.

I think that's how it works.

In days of old they only worked after you had sent a mobile phone text message that included your house number and post code. You would receive a 'password' code by return (sometimes at a premium rate).

You would then be deluged with junk mail cascading through your letter box.

I've just checked - it'll work in WinAmp. :) <NT>

Try a converter

There are lots of freeware and shareware programs available that will easily convert a .CDA file to any format you want.

Here's one:

Have you ever installed a Codec Pack yourself ? ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to .cda conversion

I only ask because most users think that codecs only apply to video.

However, since some video files are effectively a 'mini database' containing similar files , the Codec Packs have an influence on the system compatibility for both forms of media.

Google for codec pack and install one of them, then see how you go.
