Here are some links with examples and explanations that are as simple as possible. There are also additional embedded links within these articles.

CDMA/CD is a ethernet technology (carrier detect multiple access collision detection). it ensures data flow over ethernet network.

it detects the media for free to use as well as detects collision of packets and resend the data.

Rajesh is correct. What this means is Every computer sends thier info if there is a packet collision the CDMA\CD protocol will DETECT the collision and resend.(This is like an intersection where there is no traffic light and every one just goes)

There is another protocol used by apple talk called CDMA\CA which means Collision Avoidance. This protocol checks for traffic and if there is none then it sends the data.(Collision Avoidance)
(This is the intersection with the traffic light)

Sorry rajesh and rickpawlick... Way off base. CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detect) is what you're refering to (Ethernet or 802.3). CDMA is Code Division Multiple Access, a digital wireless technology. Check the links others have given for more info. Nice try.

-HTH
