CDRW – “No Disk Found” “Not Ready”

Hi,

I have 2 unrelated PCs:

1. Compaq, WinXP, don’t know about the CDRW.
See’s data already on disks but will not recognize blank media inserted into drive. Error = “Disk Not Ready” and “No Disk In Drive”.

2. Built PC, Win98SE, Sony CRX220E1 CDRW.
I reloaded the Windows generic driver and it sees CD-Rs with data, but not CDRW’s. Same message.

Any ideas on what causes this error and how to correct it? If it sees CDR and CSRW, could it be the driver?
