By dangeam ·
Can any help me to make DOS 6.22 floppy from the DOS files saved at network shared place. All the files are in one directory and I want to make the start up(setup) floppy set to install on new system from scratch.

You havn't told us what operating system you are using as you connect to the network.

Exit windows to the DOS prompt. Now, if you type VER and hit the enter button and get Version 6.22 then follow these steps...

1) At the dos prompt carefully type:
format a: /s (Make sure that you have a blank floppy disk in A: drive) Follow the on screen directions for formatting the disk and coping the system files...

If you are in anything other than DOS 6.22 follow these steps:

1) Create adirectory on C: drive called THIS
2) Copy all of the DOS files from the netwotk directory into the c:\THIS directory that you just created.
3) Put a blank floppy disk into drive a:
Then at the dos prompt type:
copy c:\THIS\*.com a: copy c:\THIS\*.sys a:
4) Shut down the computer. (Leave the disk in the a: drive.)
5) Turn the computer back on. (Leave the disk in the a: drive.)
6) At the a prompt type:
cd c:
cd this
At the C:\THIS prompt type:
format a: /s (Make sure that you have a blank floppy disk in A: drive) Follow the on screen directions for formatting the disk and coping the system files...

Good luck....

Format a floppy with system files
Make sure Window Explorer shows all hidden-files by changing the View-Options to Show All Files
The Foormated floppy contains default system files COMMAND.COM,IO.SYS,and MSDOS.SYS
create a DOS-directory and copy the most important files from the C-drive Windows-directory and Windows\COMMAND-directory
