Cell Format problem

By jimonline ·
Hi,

I have created an excel time sheet for my work. There are 12 monthly tabs plus one summary. Simply I type in a tart time and a completion time and the hours are then calculated. The summary sheet basically summizes the individual hours based on project numbers. All seems to be working OK except when I use the sum command on each tab and in the summary I dont get the correct total. I think it may be in the format. For entry times, calculation I use the hh:mm format and I get the correct time frame, however when I use the hh:mm for the summary I dont get the correct hours and minutes, its a weird number like 1:30 instead on 160:30 beeing the total hours I worked in that month.

I decided to use the hh:mm format so I could get the calculation correctly. I previously used numbers and decimals put had to correct the calculation because of teh am and pm for 12 hour calculations.

Can any one shed some light on this. its driving me nuts

Jim
