if cemose battery is failes how does it effect the system.wht is the function fo this battery? plz help regards shaif.

it's CMOS...

This battery maintains the system BIOS when the pc is unpowered and unplugged.

Now... For the rest of your book report you must look up the definitions of CMOS and BIOS on the web.

the person in answer 1 was a bit of a basterd...

CMOS = Complementary Mental Oxide Semi-conductor
CMOS keeps your adjusted settings of your bois

BIOS = Basic Input/Output System
BIOS is settings on compnents and things inside your computer (in a nutshell)

you can buy a CMOS battery from you local independant computer store, they are 3 Volt button cells.
