Central profile access problem.

By greygoose ·
A user running NT 4.0 workstation can logon to server, but gets an error message, "do not have permission to logon CentralProfile, use default profile instead".

The user had domain user rights, then I changed it to administrator rights, but the user still get's the same message. Then I searched registry found CentralProfile for the user is "", I edited it to "\\servername\Profiles\Username", and still user can not use CentralProfile.

Does anybody knows how to solve this problem?

Thanks.

Go to the User account properties and verify that \\servername\Profiles\Username is set in the profile path then do the following:

go to the directory on the server where you store profile and make sure the user has access to that directory (read, write, change permissions).

reason why I think the user does not have permission is, even though that person is a member of that domain that does not give them all rights to all directories on the server.

..just in addition to the above answer - also check the share permission on the server.
