A+ can be good

by Tigger_Two In reply to Certifcates ??? which one ...

But only if you want a high level overview.

When I was still doing field work, I also needed the equipment specific certs to do warranty work. Don't know if that is still the case though. MCP is always a good one to have handy.

Try doing some informational interviews with companies that you want to work for to find out what certifications and education they expect to see from a candidate wanting to do field work. At a guess, they will want to see a mix of education and certification as well as some experience.

A field-based tech needs OEM certs

by NickNielsen In reply to Certifcates ??? which one ...

The A+ is usually considered a starting point. For field work, you will need to get certs from Dell, Lexmark, HP, Okidata, and IBM. Unfortunately, you will have to have an employer that is a partner or warranty service provider for one of these OEMs to get them at a reasonable price.

If you don't mind getting a little dirty, get good with printers. You'll always have work.

edit:typing on the netbook. I HATE the effing touchpad!

IBM & DB2

For my point of view IBM certification are the best . But people normally starts with CCNA & MCSE e.t.c. and for these online site is here having a lot of material and exams papers in it that is >>> beitcertified.
