Certificate of Authentic on the web

By rmattern ·
What is this on the internet and how secure is this to use. Are there any downfalls in using this type of certificate?

Certificate of Authentic on the web

Better check this certificate when your browser is beeping (provided sound is on). When receiving a certificate make sure it is from the source your were requesting. If not your may be suffering a so-called man-in-the-middle attack. Meaning as much as someone lese is intercpeting your communication by acting like proxy. This sort of attack can be done even on SSL sessions. Question is the available timeframe. A home banking client of a world known swiss bank suffered this type of attack. Unlessyou have a direct connection (without Internet) everyone could be suffering this attack, by someone simply showing a false certificate.
Beware and check those certificates ALWAYS.
Good luck.
