    Certifications

    Hey everyone,

I recently graduated from a Network Systems Administrator Diploma program. I have no previous IT work experience. I want to start my certifications but I am unsure how to start or which one to do. I have an opportunity to do TestOut, but I’m not sure if this is enough to get a foot in the door. I also want to do the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2016 certification, and then the Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Cloud Platform and Infrastructure certification.

I am also considering a Security route as I also am interested in that, I would choose between the two.

Is it enough to have the MTA first? Or should I do the MCSA as well? Or is there another certification I should consider?

Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate it.

      Burdenoftruth,

Why is it you’re looking at Microsoft certifications? If it’s security you’re wanting to lead into maybe go into CompTIA then into CompTIA Security+?

Thanks for your reply. I’m working on MTA’s because the school is providing them for free. Right now I am working part time and am struggling a bit to make ends meet. I’d like to do the CompTIA courses once I can afford them.
