Has anyone ever seen this problem under Windows NT4.0 Workstation?: If a user is only a member of the “domain users” group then *.cgm graphic files can not be imported into Word 97, even though “everyone” has “full control” permissions. These files do not even show up in the thumbnail view when you browse to open them. This is also true when you highlight a cgm file name in a Windows Explorer list, which leads me to believe that it’s not just a Word problem. However, if you make the user a member of the “domain admins” group and log them back in, the problem goes away. I therefore tried changing ownership of a cgm file from administrators to a particular user name that only belongs to the domain users group, but this did not fix the problem. Does anybody have another solution since I do not want a bunch of domain administrators on the network?
