Change display to default settings?

Computer crashed and would only boot in Safe Mode.Changed the display settings to 800 by 600 pixels, High Color (16 Bit). Computer seems to run fine, but the display font is a bit small and smaller than the original size. How do I change to default display or bigger font size? I tried 720 X 480 – distorted, 640 400 – too big.
