change documents and settings default folder

I recently did a clean install on my system after several weeks of trying to remove a virus. In any event, as far as the clean install-everything went as planned and my system is much better.
Since I did a clean install, I wanted to also better managed my partitions.
Installed XP in C:
Have Programs on
and third partition for my documents F:
I changed the default documents settings through the registry editor
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE^SOFTWARE^MICROSOFT^WINDOWS NT^PROFILELIST. HERE, I removed the %system drive% and replaced it with my new drife letter-in this case "F".
When I test the documents settings save path it works fine. My documents now don't go to default "C". The problem I'm having is with permissions. Looks like my IE, outlook and trying to open some apps causes an error stating that I do not have access and/or permissions. When I double check, the user "myself" has administrator privileges. Please advise on what step am I missing.

Thank you in advance for any tips provided.
