In Active Directory, I have Group Policies in effect so that the Software Installation portion installs various applications using .msi packages from a server share without requiring user intervention. The source path for these installation packages is set to something like \\server_name\install_directory, and that server is dying and being replaced. Is there any way to modify the Software Installation source path for those GPO’s in Active directory to point to the same installation directoryon the new server, without removing the application and then re-adding that application to the group policy? Basically I want to make the modification to the Software Installation portion of the GPO in AD to use the new server, instead of the old one for the installation source path, without having to reinstall the applications on all affected workstations. Can this be done, and if so, how??
