Hi,

I don't know if there is an offical way of doing this as the OS is being installed from the CD-ROM. But I've done it many times by installing the OS the first time like normal. Then I reinstall Windows using the the CD-ROM and this time I can specify the OS windows directory name I want, such as W2KAS.

Good luck,

Been a while since I actually installed Win 2K but from memory it has the same basic install process as all the rest, and part of the early install system is it offers a folder name to install to with an option below to use it or to change it, I take that opportunity to change the folder name.

I is possible to do it after installation by changing certain pointers and registry entries and changing the folder name at the same time. I have friends who have done it this way and made it work but they took so long finding all the entries to adjust I thought it easier to just rename the folder and then 'repair' the installation.
