Is it possible to change the MAIL-FROM field in a message being relayed through a mailbox on Exhange Server 5.5? I am sending a pager alert message from an AS/400 internal mail server to recipients on the internet. The message passes through a mailbox on Exchange, and the SENT-TO field is aliased as the Exchange maibox address, which is known on the internet domain name servers. However, the MAIL-FROM field is not aliased and retains the original address from the AS/400. The problem is that this address is not registered with a domain name server on the internet, and when certain recipients ISP’s do a reverse DNS lookup on MAIL-FROM, it fails and rejects the message.
