Change time

By the emu ·
How can I allow domain users the right to change the time on their local machine? I know I can have them logon locally and do so if I add the right to change time. However, our users logon to the network. I tried adding the right to the group Everyone on the server, but that doesn't apply then to their local machine. I would like everyone to be able to change their own clock.

unless they're part of the administrator group, they're not going to be able to change their time while logging onto the network. i've found that putting the net time command into a login script very helpful to keep all the times the same.

A default installation of Windows NT 4.0 allows members of the local Administrators or Power Users groups to set the system time.

To give any user the ability to set the local system time, you could add the Domain Users group as a member of the local Power Users group on each NT Workstation in your domain. Use a script or batch file to make this group addition to all domain members without having to visit each seperately.

Good luck, -Ewing

How about creating a Global group called System Time adding the users that need rights to change the time to this group and then going to the invidual users machine and under the machine local domain add system time group under user right Change system time. I hope this helps.
