Change View Source Editor in IE

By Thad McLemore ·
Is there anyway to change the default Notepad when clicking View Source in Internet Explorer 5? I want it to default to use EditPad instead but I can't find where in the registry that resides.

Thanks!

You can add the EditPad Entry under key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList
than use
Tools/InternetOptions->programs->HTML Editor
to set EditPad as an HTML Editor
Hope this helps,
If need more info with adding the EditPad Entry fell free to send a mail to me :)

This did add editpad as an option in the Programs list in IE but when using view source it still defaulted to notepad. I closed the browser and tried again. Still didn't work.

I actually got it myself. Just add the reg key below (example using editpadpro)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\View Source Editor\Editor Name]
@="c:\\program Files\\JGsoft\\EditPadPro\\editPadPro.exe"
